Great location and cheap rent for the space you get|Recommended: YesIt is a little bit loud at night with everyone coming in and out of the building. Neighbors keep to themselves. keep in mind that this place was built in the early 80s so it does seem a little run down but the heating is amazing and the location is great for midtown.
Love it here|Recommended: Yes really enjoy living here it’s nice and quiet at night and my neighbors are very nice everything in my apartment works perfectly. we’ve only had one maintenance issue and the maintenance guy arrived quickly to fix it. outside the apartment is very well maintained as well
New to Alaska|Recommended: YesI was lucky enough to get a newly renovated apartment and it is wonderful Having just moved to Alaska, I was worried about the quality of apartment I would be getting, but Arctic Sun did not disappoint. There is sometimes noise from outside car doors, garbage trucks, etc. that can be a bit annoying but for the most part everything is quiet. Never having to look for a parking spot due to the assigned parking is great
Wonderful place to live|Recommended: YesIt's nice and centrally located, great for couples. Decently quiet.

Spacious, good neighborhood and quiet neighbors.|Recommended: YesLarge apartments, big enough for 3 roomies more. The neighborhood is nice, no riff raff running around out doors. The neighbors are pleasant and quiet, some have dogs but even then I don't think I've ever heard them bark.
Hi Keanu, this is Jen from Customer Service. Thanks so much for the feedback, we appreciate hearing from our residents! Thank you again, Jen
It is a very nice apartment for a young adult.|Recommended: YesIts nice, I don't really get bothered by anything, although my upstairs neighbors seem to be body slamming each other into the ground at 11PM every night, but you know, that is just part of apartment living i guess. My Arctic Sun apartment is spacious, and all the appliances work. Inside its great, but outside its okay... There are a lot of homeless people around the apartment building due to a park down the street. I hear lots of yelling, and drunken ramblings late at night, but again, apartment living. With that said, i feel safe with the locked entry door. Overall, I can deal with all the homeless, and noise, because this is my first place. I love my apartment on the inside, and i think that is what counts.
Great starter community|Recommended: YesThese apartment homes are a nice starter for anyone thinking about settling down here. The noise from the neighbors can get somewhat annoying, but they have to yell their lungs out for you to hear them. When something goes out, all we have to do is give a quick call to the number and somebody is usually out within a couple hours to fix the problem.
It's OK. The price, space, and location drew me in.|Recommended: YesIt's pretty quiet, peaceful, and most people mind themselves. It really helps to have a dog - dog owners tend to perk up when their dogs are friendly with one another
Not so great|Recommended: NoI like that there is a bunch of space to the apartment. In the summer months there are homeless people who walk by and sometimes yell at me and my dogs when I'm walking them. The walls are thin and this is not a smoke free apartment building. There is a really heavy smell of smoke in my bedroom from the neighbors so beware anyone who is asthmatic or have premature infants. I guess its just too bad for them. I wonder how long the stale cigarette smell will last in that apartment. Tried politely asking neighbors to smoke outside but they refuse. I tried asking the apartment managers about it and they confirmed it was not smoke free. They didn't seem interested in doing anything about it. Some of the managers are great and some just seem to have no enthusiasm or seem to care. The sliding glass doors don't hold in heat well so the living room is cold and the Bedroom is a furnace.
Its alright, just needs improvment.|Recommended: NoIf you just starting out in life its ok but not for a permanent living, neighbors are nice but mostly to them self. You will also see and hear homeless people walking around sometimes.

OLD needs a remodel, more parking fix current mess|Recommended: Yessucks living in a huge complex, but inside my apartment it is quite and a pretty decent size, but a little over priced for quality.

Liveable, convienent area, low cost|Recommended: NoNothing is well done but nothing is done incredibly poorly. Parking is not ideal and spots are very small. Staff is not always in their office during the posted hours of operation and the "emergency services" leave a lot to be desired. Residents do not pick up after their pets so there isn't any play outside to congregate. I've never heard anyone say they specifically look for Weidner properties to live in; only that they have a monopoly in Alaska and that if you have pets there are very few alternatives. Mostly, it would be nice if the full rent was posted to my account before the first of every month instead of a chunk of about $30 being posted subsequently for some reason. It's frustrating to get a call two weeks later saying you haven't paid your rent when you did in fact pay the full amount asked on the first.
