5 Ways to Earn Money from Home

  |     |   Apartment Living, Lifehacks

If social distancing has created an abundance of time in your life, it may provide you with the perfect opportunity to earn additional income.

Check out these ways you may be able to make some extra money without leaving your apartment:

Be a Virtual Assistant. Many businesses still need help, and you can provide the necessary assistance from home. Things like auditing, filing, screening, and data entry only require you to have a computer and internet. To find virtual assistant jobs, you can check out Indeed, Upwork, and many other job sites.

Sell Goods. Now is a great time to go through your old belongings and see if there’s anything worth selling. Perhaps you can make some money off of that dusty collection of figurines or trading cards that you haven’t looked at in years. Or, you could try making something to sell, whether it be home-made soap or hand-sewn facemasks. Who knows? You may just discover a new profitable skill.

Become an Online Tutor. With most schools turning to online programs during this unprecedented time, some students may struggle with this transition and require additional tutoring. If you have experience or expertise in a particular subject, offer your services. Your services can be conducted online, over FaceTime, or even on the phone. Skooli, TutorMe, and Tutor.com can help you get started.

Sell Creative Services. If you are the creative type, this is your opportunity to get paid for your talents! Many websites such as Fiverr allow you to offer writing, graphic design, animation services, and much more. Or, why not finish up that screenplay you’ve been working on for years and submit it to some different studios? It’s a great opportunity to utilize your talents and offer them to others.

Create Online Courses. If you’re an expert in a specific field, why not instruct others? You can create online courses to share your expertise with those who are curious and eager to learn. These lessons can teach people how to crochet, draw, act, anything. Course creation will require an investment of time up-front, but the payoff may very well be worthwhile if you can offer valuable knowledge.
