Quick Tips for Easy Pet Hair Removal in Your Apartment

We know how much you love your four-legged family members, but we also know how much you don’t love the hair and fur they leave all over your home.

No worries. Here are 5 ways you can easily remove pet hair from your apartment:

Don Some Rubber Gloves. Believe it or not, wearing rubber gloves can go a long way in helping to remove pet hair. Simply put them on, dampen them, and run your hands over the surface to collect an impressive amount of loose hair or fur.

Pull Out That Lint Roller. You most likely already use a lint roller on your clothes, but you can also use it on furniture and other fabrics. Opt for the “extra sticky” sheets for the best results when picking up fur.

Utilize Dryer Sheets. Surprisingly, dryer sheets can work wonders in helping you pick up pet hair. Simply dampen a dryer sheet and rub it on the surface to quickly collect the loose fur.

Alternate Vacuum Direction. If you only vacuum in one direction, some fur and hair may get pushed into the carpet rather than collected. Be sure to alternate directions while vacuuming to ensure that you are picking up everything.

Take Preventative Measures. Once you’ve removed the hair, you can also take steps to help mitigate the problem. Brushing a pet every day will help you control the shedding process and collect it in one place rather than having it deposited all over your apartment. The same goes for bathing your pet and using a good shampoo and conditioner. Also consider covering areas with materials that won’t exacerbate the problem, or occasionally using a humidifier to reduce the static cling factor.

Now that you know how to eliminate pet hair, you can implement these tips and tricks to help ensure your home is clean and fur-free for you and your animal babies.
