A Day in the Life of a Community Leasing Manager



Managing an apartment community and creating a sense of place that residents can call home is no easy feat. To coin a phrase, “it takes a village,” in order to provide quality apartment homes for our residents. Today, we’re going to shine the light on an important role in that village, the Community Leasing Manager. 

Community Leasing Managers help keep Weidner communities running at peak performance by first addressing the needs of the residents and matching them with their ideal apartment home. Our on-site leasing professionals are often the first impression residents have of their prospective community. Leasing managers and their entire team embody the Weidner motto, “What Matters to You, Matters to Us” from the very first time they meet a new resident. They continue to nurture that business relationship throughout the time the resident lives at the community, which is often a very long time!

We’ve said before that every single thing that happens in life will probably occur at one time or another in the apartment community. Our property management staff must be trained, intuitive, aware, and ready for any situation. On any given day, our leasing and maintenance staff might handle anything from a leaking faucet to a move-in, to a sudden vacancy without notice, to a barrage of apartment tours, to a weather-based crisis, to hosting a major resident event. All in one day. This is a mere glimpse into a day in the life of a Community Leasing Manager.

So, with all this responsibility, how do Leasing Managers manage to create this extraordinary sense of community, while still juggling the day-to-day operations of a property? It starts by loving what they do. From this natural state, our leasing professionals are able to then give the best service possible in any given situation because they’re personally invested in something that matters to them – creating a real home for their residents.

For more than 42 years, Weidner has served the apartment rental community in the U.S. and Canada, with continued plans for expansion. None of this is possible without our dedicated family of employees.
