Residential, Affordable, Quite and lovely|Recommended: YesI like this place. It's been 4 months here now but feels more. Management is awesome, they listen to you patiently and try their best to solve any issues. Maintenance is also fast and friendly. I am sure i'ld like to stay here for long. Cons 1. Less lighting in parking area. It's a big parking lot in the center of community. They have fixed lights on the top of surrounding buildings but some areas are very dark. It's really scary during rain which is almost 10 months in Seattle . 2. No security camera. It impacts mainly at the entry gate where people wait for residents' car to open gate and take a free pass in. Rest everything is peaceful and fine.

Gilded Beauty|Recommended: NoThis community looks great at first glance but the longer you stay or the more you keep looking the worse it starts to get. First off, we loved the gated entry when someone hadn't broken the mechanism to the facility and the fact that unauthorized vehicles would be towed when they bothered to enforce it . The grounds are well kept and vibrantly colored while the apartment has new, name brand appliances and fresh cabinetry. Halfway through our residency the laundry facility was updated for the 21st century and they moved away from coin-op to credit card, which made life way more easy. When we first moved in we unexpectedly needed to move in a few days earlier than planned and they were very accommodating to our needs. It was a great experience The first sign of a problem came with a foul, urine like smell that came from one corner of the family room near the kitchen. At the time we did not have a pet so we were having difficulty pinpointing the location of the smell. We figured out that the carpet had been sullied by a prior tenant and the apartment sent in a cleaner to run through it again. This did not solve the problem. They came out again to clean it and this did not solve the problem. We decided to just deal with it and not put furniture there because the smell would get on anything we put there. The next problem we had was a mold problem. We noticed this after showering in the main bathroom for a few weeks and the white fuzz that would appear on the wall. We were able to isolate the issue to a leak that seemed to be coming out of the wall. Water would actually visibly seep from the cracks in the wall when we would shower. Maintenance came by and wiped off the wall with a bleach solution and told us to be careful when opening the shower door because that's where the water came from. So we were careful and the mold came back because there was a LEAK in the WALL. Maintenance came back out, cleaned off the wall with bleach, and sealed up the floor-wall seam with caulk. The mold kept coming out anyway and started to come out black instead of white. Nothing we did, including keeping all the windows cracked open, running the vent fan when showering, and even running a blow dryer across that area, prevented the mold from coming back because it was in the wall . I pity whomever takes over residency after us if they don't tear apart that bathroom because it is probably everywhere in those walls. Third issue, the ceiling in the bedroom started to droop. We freaked out and thought there was a leak but apparently it is normal for the paint to be so heavy it can't remain adhered to the ceiling so maintenance did nothing about it. Starting to see the trend The last, most terrible experience, came when we were moving out. It started with the notice that at the end of our lease the rent would go up by a minimum of 200 with a 12-month contract or up to DOUBLE current rent for month-to-month. This was then followed by a 48 hour notice of entry for a pre-move out inspection to determine what parts might need to be ordered . I have no problem with a 48 hour notice of entry if it is actually given 48 hours in advance. My problem is that they staff failed to provide the notice 48 hours in advance and then LIED about it. I know they lied because the date that was written on the notice was a day where I was off of work and home all day and going back and forth from the apartment to my vehicle. There was no notice. There was also no notice when I went to work the next morning. The notice WAS there when I came back that night and it informed me they would be entering into the apartment that next morning. The staff claimed that it had been placed there on the first day after normal business hours. We worked out a deal when they could come and do their inspection they declined to come on the day the notice stated but within the hours we wanted and that was taken care of. When we finally go to the move out I went to the front office for our final move-out inspection turn over the keys and found out that it was not, in fact, the actual move-out inspection. Apparently only the manager can facilitate this and it would occur after we had handed over our keys and left permanently. So the actual final inspection happened without us there and we were unable to sign the paperwork showing an agreement on the state of the apartment on move-out. I took pictures in case they tried to mess with us. Sure enough, we got the final notice in the mail. We were charged a cleaning fee because there was, and I'm not joking about this, a single hair in the main bathroom. The microwave had a speckle of dirt in it. There was a single cat hair in the kitchen. The best one was that they had to fill in nail holes in the walls which is total BS because I watched my fiancé do that very thing and there were zero holes leftover for them to patch. We even patched holes that weren't ours. The coup d'état was that there was a pet smell on the carpet and we would lose half of our security deposit for them to clean it. We know. We reported it when we first moved in. Thanks for screwing us.
Hi there Justin, I'm Kristie from the Customer Service department and I appreciate hearing from you. We read all of the reviews with the goal to improve the experience of living in a Weidner community for our residents and I would like to extend on my apologies for any frustration that you may have experienced during your time at Whispering Cedars Apartment Homes. I did take the time to look into the items mentioned and a carpet cleaning is a standard charge that applies for all of our apartment homes and is listed out in the signed lease agreement. The cleaning charges are valid as the fridge needed to be wiped down further, the dishwasher needed additional cleaning, tracks on the slider needed additional attention and an on-site team member did walk the apartment with you twice that day to let you know what needed additional attention. We take pictures as well after move outs to support cleaning charges of this nature which can be provided to you along with a visual for the nail holes that were still present if need be. Please feel free to connect at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any additional questions regarding your move out. Take good care, Kristie - Weidner Customer Service
No adult supervision for children|Recommended: Yeskids are not supervised by an adult and leave trash and toys laying all over the place, I have even seen unsupervised children in the pool area, one was as young as three with no parent in view.
