Nice, Quiet and overall Good property|Recommended: YesI like how quiet it is. I do hear footsteps or movement from time to time with my up stairs neighbors but thats norm for complexes. Brand new tile floors which are nice to walk bare foot on. Larger than most bathrooms and deeper narrow tubs. Parking is great, large spots. Cons are not enough time for a longer hot shower, turns warm to cold within 5 mins. Also can only get so hot with the turn dial, and thats as far or as hot as you can do. I moved into 2bed 2bath and the kitchen is weird, doable but the storage closets pantry suck. They have that cheap wire for the shelves and well it just sucks. Have that in the closets as well. Would like solid shelving. Also the pantry's are super narrow and just very annoying to try and house food or pots and pans. The wire shelving causes issues with hanging clothes in your closet. Alot could be improved on, appliances, carpet, ceiling fans not upgraded - with saying that - this property is landscaped and maintained very well. All apts complexes are basically the same. This one is directly at the metro which is nice. You do have to walk a couple blocks to get on or off. You do not have the availability to turn left into the main entrance of property if driving West on Main St. That can be annoying at times, but you just do a uturn a few blocks up. You are very close to 101 202 60, etc. Great location. Glad I moved here.

Needs Some Updates but I am overall really happy |Recommended: YesMy cupboards and floors are dated looking and show wear and tear. While I would like a remodel overall I am very happy here. Oh and a water tap in the dog park would be awesome
Clean property and very homey. |Recommended: YesThe layout of the apartment makes the place very comfortable. There is little noise from neighbors and a tremendous amount of help from the staff. Overall, a great place to live.
Living in a 4.5 star Apartment|Recommended: YesPala Mesa is an amazing place to live and I would live here longer if I was not moving to Michigan. I think the biggest complaint I have is that there is not a lot of trash cans around the facility this wasn't a problem for me . Unlike some people, we lived close to one but I saw people walking about three building lengths to get to one. So I would recommend planning that out when you live here. Also there seems to be a lot of college younger families here. With this being said, some people do have parties and you can hear them sometimes. It never became too loud to call security though and it only happened about once every two months. Lastly, the only reason grounds only got 4 5 stars is because the landscapers would trim the trees and bushes and leave the leaves, etc on the ground for about a 1-1.5 months on the ground until it blew away.
Very nice too many scorpions inside my apartment |Recommended: Yesthat I really love it here and the people in the office couldn't be more attentive or helpful for any reason. they all have displayed professionalism,courteous,patient,just gone above and beyond to accomidate my needs,concerns and that is very important to me. they have made me feel very welcome since day one so thank you for that and I am impressed with how quickly maintenance responds to a work order and they are just as helpful and courteous as the people in the office. I tell people daily how thrilled I am about living here and look forward to many years to come.

Wonderful community!!!|Recommended: YesExcellent living for a reasonable price (in these days). Grounds are always clean and well-kept. Very few issues with the community. I love the recent re-design of the community access portal on the website!!!

Maintenance always responds very fast and is super friendly. They also clean up after themselves!!!! AMAZING!!!! Overall this is the best property I have ever lived at. I will never leave this place!!
New management doesn't care about residents.|Recommended: NoThe old management company was friendly, engaging, and helpful to residents. Since Weidner has taken over the property, all office staff has been replaced by employees who have made it very clear through their apathy, lack of service, and rudeness that they could care less about residents. The complex has increased efforts to make life more difficult for its residents by closing the rent drop off box, randomly closing the office during the day with poor notice, not allowing for rent to be paid without a credit card without a fee, etc. The maintenance crew does poor work- it has taken 2-3 attempts to get any issues fixed in our apartments. For example, we reported that our garbage disposal did not work properly and would start smoking when turned on. We were told it was fine and it was "powerful for grinding up food." We have a terrible problem with scorpions- we have had 15 in the last 10 months. We have asked twice to have the weather stripping replaced around our door because we saw a scorpion run right under our door one night. They have "replaced" it twice, although there are still gaping holes in the stripping. I refuse to let them do work in our apartment now unless I am present and can supervise, and I try and fix all essential problems myself. Two months ago the sewage system in the complex- apparently the underground pump- failed. Raw sewage was puddling in the parking lots and our cars, apartment, and everything around us smelled us boiling sewage. This was in May and it was over 100* during the day. It took over two weeks to fix the problem, and the office staff dismissed our concerns every time we brought up the issue. The delays and apathy make it very clear of Weidner's interest in its residents. Furthermore, the office staff has informed us that the company has also removed any resigning offers that were present when we signed our original contract at Pala Mesa- another sign of the company's desire for quick turnaround of residents so that it can continue to raise rents. I understand the need and desire to increase rents and would gladly pay, but I expect the services and quality of life to match the costs (Pala Mesa is one of the most expensive around). I hope the company starts reinvesting in its customers and improves its customer service and office staff.
Wouldve been 1 star, but now 4|Recommended: YesMy first 6 months here were horrible. My first week here my toilet was clogged and I immediately contacted the 24 hour maintenance. Luckily I'm in a 2x2 because it took them a week to even come by and look at it. I had stains on my carpet at move-in that didn't get taken care of until 9 months into the lease. The student discount is ok...5% off. There's not really a bug problem if you get your place sprayed twice a month which they offer free of charge. On one occasion the guy did enter the unit when I put on the request that they were not permitted, I was in the bathroom less than5 minutes and I came out to find a note saying they just sprayed. The hot tub never works and the pool is nice. The 24 hour gym is awesome except only one door worked and the other one's keyhole was jammed. At this time I was already looking for somewhere else to go once my lease was up. Then they switched from Heers Management to Weidner and everything was made new. The property looks great, the maintenance could be better, but they're better than before. Some times they do not finish a job and I have to put in a work order again to get it done. There are weekly polls on Facebook to win $5 gift cards to Starbucks and the community events are cool.

Nice place, good location, and great apartments.|Recommended: YesOverall its pretty good. We had several issues with our Apt that needed to be delt with before/as we moved in. They are as follows. Second bathroom shower would drain very slow, the water valve for the shower was very hard to turn. Two of our smoke alarms needed repair batteries, we needed new doorknobs on two doors as they didn't close properly, and we had to get some of our blinds adjusted replaced. Sounds like a big list, but every time we noticed something we told the office. The next work day it was fixed perfectly, every time. Service around here is Amazing! There's no other word for it, they just get everything they need do, DONE. Assigned parking seems to be a bit naff as our assigned spot has 6 uncovered/unassigned spots that are a closer/more direct walk but there is assigned covered parking available. My only real complaint is the small water heaters. Dont even thing about taking a shower while the dishwasher or laundry is on, you'll have about 3 seconds of warm water... Other than that this is easily one of the better apartment communities in the area. Highly recommended.
