Great apartments, top notch staffsubmitted by Devin M. - |Recommended: YesMy husband and I love living at Capitol Towers, especially with all of the excitement of our growing downtown just a few blocks away The best part about living in Capitol Towers is the amazing staff. Rehanna has been a lifesaver. She put in a maintenance request when she noticed part of our fence had fallen. We have a small dog who could have escaped and she took care of it right away without us asking It's that kind of thoughtfulness that makes us love and want to stay at Capitol Towers. There very few things I would change. One is the lack of parking nearby, especially after the city changed the hours of the meters and the high cost of the monthly parking pass. We also have quite a noisy upstairs neighbor but if he had a rug it might help muffle some of his music, coughing, ect. I have lived in places that require rugs when you have laminate or hardwood floors. The noise drives my husband a bit crazy sometimes but in the grand scheme of things the noise is to be expected when we chose to live on the ground floor Lastly, something that would really put Capitol Towers over the top though we do love it here is to have some sort of bike storage unit. We had a bike stolen out of our backyard and so did our neighbor. It would be great if there was a protected space that Capitol Towers residents could use as a a bike storage closet. I hope this didn't seem too critical. We love Capitol Towers, especially the staff and the well-kept grounds and we hope we are able to stay another year

Awesome place to live submitted by Chris S. - |Recommended: YesI have lived at Capitol Towers since 2011. I was never sold on the idea of living in Sacramento until I found this place. It's right downtown with the arena only blocks away. I really like the gym amneties as well as the pool. The staff is extremely professional and has worked with me every time I had any issue whatsoever. Special shout out to the new community director Laura. She helped save the gym that I manage here. She went out of her way to accomadate a tense situation that developed due to some flooding issues that were completely beyond the control of Capitol Towers and well beyond the scope of her immediate job. I love the new management team here and I will continue to live here as long as I am in Sacramento. Nothing is perfect but the team here really does do their best to work with the residents and business owners here. Also I have known the maintenance staff for a long time as well here. Armando, Marco and Maria all go out of their way to be friendly and accommodating and make me feel like they really care about us as residents. I don't know all of the new staff but I habe zero complaints They've all been very helpful anytime I've ever had any request. I'm glad that Rehanna stayed on as well She's always been extremely friendly and my dog is in love with her treats lol. Thanks again for everything Chris SAVAGE

Not a great guide and directsubmitted by Chris - |Recommended: NoGreat place to live, last management company was a breeze and was the most professional team I had experienced with. I've lived here for a really long time and the new director tried setting up an appointment with me due to a disagreement she had with myself which made me uncomfortable and literally was told she doesn't like me. Tried reaching corporate to file a complaint but can't figure out the direct line and was put on hold. Sometimes I leave the office after grabbing coffee and I can hear one of them saying how annoying or how much she dislikes me. Except for Rehanna and the new girl Emma. I am highly dissapointed and ask that the old Director Lauren to comes back, we all miss her. I don't have much complaints in general but something serious isn't right here. Other then that it's a great place to live we just need more respect and professionalism The maintenance crew though is amazing so far and I am pleased that none of them left

The Lobby Always Smells Greatsubmitted by Shawn V. - |Recommended: YesI have lived here for a month the first 30 days I had continuous problems with my electrical setup in my apartment. I couldn't keep the microwave plugged in or even use it without the power going out in the entire apartment. I also would have to keep the electrical stove running in order to keep the electricity running. I had to personally contact maintenance 3-4 times before they finally got it fixed with SMUD. Other than that the elevators are slow and don't work properly. I once had to wait for an elevator to get to my floor for 3 and a half minutes and i counted Mississippi seconds. When i moved in i was told to make a list of things that were broken or needed repair in my apartment due to the previous tenants. I told maintanence the list of problems in the apartment and was never followed up after the first run-thru in the apartment where the guy came in looked at everything and said i will have to get back to you-- that was 4 weeks ago. On the first day i moved in i was told to park my car in the parking garage until Abm parking staff came back on Monday because i moved in on a Friday. The car was towed and i had to pay 500 dollars to get it out. I was told by the front desk that you usually only get towed if you have previous parking tickets with the county of Sacramento - which i didnt. Normally you get a 45 parking ticket if you park illegally in the parking garage. The billing process is confusing - they have a new company called utility smart which automatically charged my account 1900 without me approving the payment. Horrible maintance staff and i have had a horrible experience with this being my first apartment i have lived in. Subsequently, the rent is overpriced... But... but... but The Lobby Always Smells Great.
Great office staff submitted by Alexander - |Recommended: YesNew team has been a pleasure so far Rehanna always gives my dogs office treats and Emily always remembers my name when I'm in the office for packages. I recommend that the company should do something about offering us residents free parking. Parking costs 110.00 a month in addition to rent. Also getting used to everything paperless was a hassle at first but I understand it's the new companie's policy. Other then that, the transition has been excellent to me so far.

Capitol towers Lifestylesubmitted by Rory A. - |Recommended: YesOne of the underrated perks of Capitol Towers are the free fitness classes for residents. There is a basement gym which is normally open for great fitness classes, strength training, zumba, and personal defense. If you factor in the costs of working with a personal trainer elsewhere it helps justify the high rent. The only problem with the basement of the tower is that it floods periodically in winter. And the plumbing in the basement laundry room backs up onto the floor.

Great Locationsubmitted by Alexandra B. - |Recommended: YesI love living in Capitol Towers. The location is unbeatable, and it is a great place for dogs. The patios in the villas are wonderful for dogs. The one thing I am not satisfied with is the insulation resulting from the sliding doors, but that is only because they are older doors. Other than that, the apartment is great and worth every penny

Serviceable but you can do bettersubmitted by Mary H. - |Recommended: NoIf you want a central location then Capital Towers is great, that location however comes with parking that is not always available, elevators that don't work well and amenities that they show you but then want you to pay for to use. You won't hear your neighbors but you here all the people outside especially on game nights when they come and take all the parking. Security here is an illusion, doors are routinely propped open and the entry system rarely works so you will be going down to the lobby to let your guests in. Hopefully the elevator is working. The grounds are beautiful but the constant whine of leaf blowers will likely get to you unless you live on an upper floor. Having a dog here is great but there isn't a dog park and too many humans can't be bothered to pick up their pets waste. In short it doesn't suck, you are paying for location and maybe a nice pool.
response from property -Hello Mary, Thank you for providing your feedback online. Weidner Apartment Homes acquired the Capitol Towers community at the end of 2016 and we are investing long term to improve the experience of living in a Weidner community for our residents. My apologies on any frustration regarding the elevator, we are in process with the service provider for some parts replacement and we are also vetting additional security companies so that we can ensure that we are receiving the best service. We have also addressed the loud machinery and this type of activity should not be happening during quiet hours (please do let us know if you experience this again in the future). We thank you for your patience regarding these items and please know that we appreciate your choice to make your home here with us at Capitol Towers Apartment Homes. Resident Reviewsubmitted by Chris J. - |Recommended: NoI would say the location is golden. You are within walking distance to everything. The apartments themselves are not kept up too well i.e. outdated fixtures, sloppy paint job, outdated appliances . When I scheduled maintenance to come and repair something, things turned up missing. When I tried to schedule maintenance after 6pm when I was at the apartment they would not accommodate until I complained to management. As far as management and accommodations for working individuals in regards to maintenance, it is less than satisfactory. Management has changed recently over the last few months, so maybe new residents will have better luck. Also, my apartment had several flaws old damage that you can tell tried to be patched up but was not done very well. For instance, the toilet has a huge crack in the base of it and looks like someone tried gluing it back together rather than replacing. Also, the ventilation in the bathroom is less than satisfactory. There is a consistent musty smell because the fan is not strong enough, therefore, moisture is trapped. I have to open the window constantly when taking a shower to let it air out even in the cold winter . The apartments seemed to be priced solely on location. If it weren't for the location I would definitely not have considered these apartments. Maybe living in the tower is a different experience, but I lived in the villas around the tower.

Nice, but a little expensive and hard to find parking during the weeksubmitted by Britnee S. - |Recommended: YesA lot of nice amenities and relatively safe area however, parking here is unacceptable. It's frustrating to pay 100 a month for a spot that isn't even guaranteed.
response from property -Hello Britnee, Thank you for your posting and for providing specifics so that we are aware of the source of frustration. We do have the option for reserved parking spaces and one can obtain a parking permit from the city for street parking for an alternative solution. Again, we value hearing your feedback along with your choice to make your home here with us at the Capitol Towers community. Kind regards, Kristie - Weidner Customer Service
