Blue Heron Park is genuinely one of the best kept secrets in Central Washington. Most people driving through on I-90 have no idea this town has a sandy beach, a free 18-hole disc golf course, and a fishing pier all in one spot.
I actually spent some time living at Solara Apartment Homes not long ago and the location made it super easy to get out to the parks and the lake regularly. Being right off I-90 with the lake that close is a pretty hard combination to beat.
I recently published a guide rating all 48 parks in Moses Lake across 8 categories if anyone wants a more detailed breakdown of what the park system actually looks like. McCosh Park ranked second overall because of the community events alone. The Farmers Market, the Fourth of July crowd, the Centennial Amphitheater concerts. That park carries a lot of Moses Lake’s community identity.
Moses Lake doesn’t get nearly enough credit for its outdoor recreation. Articles like this help. Thanks for shining a light on this place.
