Overlap Dates

Moving all of your belongings in one day is too stressful for anyone! We recommend overlapping dates with your move to allow you the time and peace of mind to complete the job. Ideally, you will want to give yourself a week overlap from when your new lease starts to when your current one ends; this way, you have time to move things back and forth at your own pace. 
 

Start With the Seasonal Items

There’s nothing worse than packing all your belongings up and then realizing that you actually need an item that is somewhere in an unmarked box. Start with the seasonal items that you know you aren’t going to be using anytime soon, such as seasonal decorations and clothing. 
 

Try Thrifting

There’s no point in moving an abundance of items you don’t need. Take the time to go through all your belongings and decide what you want to keep and what you want to give away or donate. If you haven’t utilized a belonging or article of clothing in over a year, we recommend donating it to someone in need. There are people who will be more than happy to take the items that you don't want, and you will surely be relieved to move significantly fewer items. 
 

Take Photos of Things You Want to Recreate

Don’t rely on your memory to recreate the design of items in your home. If you like how your photo frames are placed on the wall, take a photo of it before you take it down to ensure you can put it back exactly how you found it. You can also do this for any TV wiring to ensure you remember where each cord goes.
