]]>Shop With Cash to Stick to Budget
It’s extremely easy to go over budget when thrift shopping. When you walk into a store and see rows lined with amazing items, you may feel an impulse to spend more than you had initially intended. We always recommend bringing cash with you to the thrift shop; this way, you have no chance of going over budget. Leave all your credit cards and checks at home and stick to a predetermined budget.
Check for Quality
Sometimes while thrift shopping, you will come across amazing finds such as specialty brands, antique belongings, and even signed art. Before assuming everything is exactly what it says, do your research and double-check. For example, if a pair of shoes says they’re genuine leather, know that the bottom should say “Vero Cuoio.” The assumption of quality should go both ways. Just because something is thrifted doesn’t mean it can’t be of high value. Look for the signs and hope for the best finds.
Shop Off Season
The best time to shop for seasonal items is once that season has just passed. Like many big retailers, stores will try to get rid of things that are no longer necessary and often offer deals or specials. For example, fall is a great time to look for summer items, patio decor, and beach equipment since many people will remove them from their homes.
