\nMidland’s Le Mirage Apartment Homes recently earned the Gold Prize in the 2019 Midland Telegram Reporter Readers’ Choice Awards contest.

\n“We’re pretty excited about this,” said Alicia Allen, community director at Le Mirage<\/a>, “especially since this is our second gold rating in two years.” She added, “But what makes it ever better is that The Palms at Briarwood<\/a> won the silver and Wildflower Apartment Homes <\/a> won the bronze!” These are sister properties of Le Mirage, as all three apartment communities are owned and managed by Weidner Apartment Homes<\/a>.

\nThe Midland Telegram Reporter has been running the Readers’ Choice Award contest for over 20 years now, asking for the community’s feedback on Midland’s favorite businesses and awarding the coveted gold, silver and bronze ratings based on who wins the largest percentage of votes.

\nWhen asked by she believes Le Mirage, has won the gold award for the past two years in a row, she said, “I think the main reason is our staff and way we treat people. It’s really important for us here to create a feeling of community, of home, of family,” she said. One way they do this is by hosting a resident event every month – some centering on holidays, seasons, or “just because,” said Allen.

\nFor example, to embrace the end of summer, the staff throws their annual “Flamingle” event – a pool party complete with food and drinks, a live band, and copious flamingo decorations where “no less than 100 people turn out,” according to Allen. She said they hold large and small events throughout the year like celebrating Valentine’s Day with a chocolate fountain or even having booths where local vendors sell candy, spa gift certificates, flowers and more. During the winter holidays they provide a cocoa bar and a gift-wrapping station so residents can wrap presents before they take them home, and they might even encounter Santa handing out breakfast to go for busy residents who commute. There’s also a big Halloween gathering, an outdoor movie night and more.

\nLa Mirage, located in a desirable neighborhood in northeast Midland, has beautiful interiors<\/a> including features like elegant granite countertops and stainless steel kitchen appliances, as well as community amenities like a resort-style swimming pool and spa, an inviting clubhouse, a modern media center, fully-equipped fitness center and gated, controlled access. “Our apartments are very nice which is great, but for us, it’s really about bringing people together,” said Allen. “We’re not just some apartment property… we have a warm and friendly community, and we provide great service so our residents enjoy the entire experience here.”

\nIn the end, the focus at Le Mirage is on creating a positive overall customer experience, and that’s why Allen and her staff believe they’ve earned the Gold Readers’ Choice Award. “I just want to say to our residents, ‘Thanks for voting for us! We appreciate you!’” she said.
