Working and schooling from home are very new to most of us. As we continue to stray away from the norm, we may find that the initial energy we had for virtual endeavors is slowly starting to trickle away. When you started working from home, you probably set up your desk, established a work schedule with roommates and family, and even developed a different routine, but those things are now the norm and have lost the excitement that they once held. If this is the case for you while working or studying from your Weidner apartment, it might be time to find new ways to boost productivity.

Reward Yourself with Breaks
When working or studying from home, it is reasonable to feel less inclined to take breaks, but don't fall into this trap. Just because you feel more comfortable at home, you are less likely to step away from the task at hand. Set timers for yourself and actively remove yourself from your work area. Don't take your break at your desk as your mind will continue to be in work mode, and you may find yourself glancing at emails and paying attention to the new emails coming in. Taking breaks is a great way to reenergize and reward yourself.
Start Decluttering
Like your desk at work or school, chances are, your home is probably starting to get cluttered with files, reports, and knickknacks. Take the time to clear off your workspace and reset it for a fresh new day. A clean environment will create a clean mind!
Set New Boundaries
Let's face it; the initial rules that you set for yourself have probably started slipping. Your roommates, family members, and kids may have slowly broken down your walls and begun distracting you during work hours once again. It's OK to revisit these rules with them or even set new boundaries. Sometimes people forget that working from home actually entails working, and it is entirely within your right to remind them gently.
Change Up the Music
Working from home means that you can listen to your own music as loudly as you want to. Depending on the task at hand, choose music that will boost your productivity. If you find yourself listening to the same playlist day after day, replace it with something out of the ordinary to make this day feel separate from the rest. When working on projects that require more thought than the rest, opt for music that does not have words to avoid muddling your thoughts. If you want to get something done quickly, choose fast-paced music. If you're going to focus down on auditing, select a slower and more soothing playlist.
Now that working from home has become the norm change it up a bit to boost productivity. Say goodbye to the monotonous days that look the same and say hello to a fresh new outlook on life. Tell us about your work-from-home routine in the comments below.
