Now that the holiday season is over, and the decorations have come down, your walls might start to feel a little empty. But, just because there are no more festivities doesn’t mean you can’t still celebrate winter. Keep reading to discover some winter decorating ideas to try in your apartment after the holidays.
Keep the winter spirit alive with your apartment decor.

Keep Out The “Winter-Themed” Decorations

While many of your decorations scream “happy holidays,” you surely have some that are a little more subtle and represent the season. Things like greenery, twinkling lights, and candles can help keep your home feeling lively. If your holiday tree still has some life to it, keep it up a bit longer, or cut off some of the branches and place them in vases as a tribute to nature. Pine cones are also easy to reuse throughout the rest of the season without seeming too “holiday-centric.”

Focus on Being Cozy

With cold weather still rolling in, now is the perfect time to get cozy. We love utilizing blankets, pillows, and rugs to help our homes feel warm and lively. A chunky, knit blanket is a great staple piece for your living room that will help you stay comfortable while also adding an aesthetic flair. You can also switch out your normal sofa pillows with some warm, fuzzy ones. If you have hardwood-style flooring in your apartment, consider adding an area rug to the living room to keep your feet warm and toasty during the colder months.

Find Transitional Decor Pieces

While we all have decor pieces that speak to specific seasons, it’s good to invest in some that can transition with the seasons. For example, one of our favorite pieces is a lantern that you can fill with plants that represent the time of year. During the winter, fill it with pine cones, velvet, and garland, and during the spring, fill it with fresh flowers and ribbons. Utilizing pieces like this in your home is a great way to minimize the amount of decor you have to store while keeping staple pieces year-round.

Just because the holiday season is over doesn’t mean your walls have to be plain. Celebrate winter by utilizing the tips above. Do you have any advice for your neighbors? Share away in the comments below.
