Break Out The Baking Soda

If you already have baking soda in your pantry, you will be happy to know that it can be used to clean just about anything! In fact, t’s a great resource to clean your toilet bowl. All you have to do is put a cup of baking soda in the toilet and let it sit for an hour, then add a cup of white vinegar and leave for about thirty minutes. Once you flush the toilet, it should remove any stains or discoloration without the harsh use of chemicals. Another great baking soda trick is to simply open a box and put it in the back of the fridge; it will soak up any bad smells for about three months.

Utilize Reusable Products

This year, make single-use items a thing of the past! While it may be convenient to use a slice of paper towel to clean the countertop, it will end up dirtying the planet. We recommend investing in reusable products; plus, they will save you money over time since you won’t have to replace them. You can even find ways to incorporate non-cleaning items into your routine. Our favorite hack is to use old toothbrushes for cleaning! They can reach into corners and cracks that most products won’t fit into.

Say Goodbye to Air Fresheners

We know that air fresheners are a quick fix for any unpleasant smell, but did you know that they aren’t great for the environment? Any time you utilize a spray, you emit harmful particles into the air. So, if you just took out the trash and find an unpleasant smell lingering, opt for a more natural solution. The easiest quick fix is simply opening a window or patio door; this will circulate in some fresh, clean air and remove the stench. If you are set on having a more pleasant smell, you can utilize essential oils in your cleaning products or an air diffuser.

While cleaning your apartment, keep the cleanliness of the planet in mind. By utilizing the tips above, you can positively impact the environment while maintaining the cleanliness of your home.
