Our West Texas associates came ready to make a difference during their 2026 Weidner Cares community service day with Mission Agape, an organization dedicated to fighting food insecurity and supporting children and families throughout the Permian Basin.
Weidner Cares is our annual, company-wide philanthropic program, hosted in each of our regions where we close our doors for a full workday so our associates can give back to the communities where we live and work. By bringing together our team’s unique talents, skills, and passion for service, we can help create meaningful transformations for nonprofit and community-focused organizations in just one day.
With plenty to accomplish, our West Texas associates spread out across Mission Agape’s facility and got to work supporting several of the organization’s programs. Teams packed Weekend Food Bags and Teen Snack Bags, prepared food boxes, restocked pantry shelves, organized supplies, assembled volunteer bags, and prepared materials for upcoming programs.
The team’s work extended beyond the facility, too. Associates striped the parking lot, painted interior doors, and helped refresh spaces for the families and volunteers who rely on Mission Agape. They also helped prepare for the organization’s Christmas Blessing event, including shopping for gifts to distribute to local families participating in the program.
By the end of the day, the team’s hard work had made an incredible impact. Together, our associates packed 700 Weekend Food Bags, 750 Teen Snack Bags, and 216 food bags. While these numbers represent an impressive day of service, each bag represents a person, child, or family who will benefit from the care and resources provided.
Thank you to Mission Agape for welcoming our team and to every West Texas associate who spent the day packing, painting, organizing, shopping, stocking, and working together to support their community.

On August 25, our Edmonton associates came together for their 2026 Weidner Cares Day!
Weidner Cares is our annual company-wide initiative, held in each of our 17 regions, that brings associates together to volunteer with local nonprofits and make a lasting impact on their communities. This year, our Edmonton team spent the day supporting Edmonton’s Food Bank, an organization dedicated to helping ensure people throughout the community have access to food. Each month, Edmonton’s Food Bank provides approximately 500,000 meals and snacks to those in need.
Our team had the opportunity to work behind the scenes of this important operation, supporting the busy warehouse alongside Food Bank staff and fellow volunteers. Throughout the day, associates helped with a variety of essential tasks, including sorting and inspecting donated food, repackaging bulk items into family-sized portions, building food hampers, organizing food for distribution, and keeping the warehouse running smoothly.
Volunteer support is an essential part of Edmonton’s Food Bank operations. In 2025 alone, volunteers contributed more than 159,000 hours, and today, volunteers help build more than 43,000 food hampers each month. For our Edmonton associates, Weidner Cares Day was an opportunity to join that incredible effort. Every effort contributes to something much bigger: helping provide food and support to people in our community who need it most.
Thank you to Edmonton’s Food Bank for welcoming our team and for the meaningful work you do every day. And thank you to our Edmonton associates for giving their time, energy, and hearts to support their community.
Together, even the simplest tasks can make a meaningful difference!

On August 13, our Utah associates returned to Wasatch Community Gardens for their 2026 Weidner Cares Day!
At the heart of Weidner Cares is a simple goal: to strengthen the communities we call home by supporting organizations that are making a difference. Weidner Cares is an annual event held in each of our regions where our teams partner with local nonprofits for an entire workday, donating their time and talents to create a lasting impact.
Wasatch Community Gardens was an easy partner for us to choose. Working throughout Salt Lake County, the organization connects people with healthy, organic, local food through community gardens, education, youth programs, job training, and other initiatives. While Weidner has partnered with Wasatch Community Gardens before, this year’s project brought an exciting new opportunity. The organization recently acquired a new farm property, and our Utah team was the first volunteer group to help transform the new space into a place where its work can take root.
Associates divided into three crews for the day. The House Crew tackled construction projects and painted the interiors. The Yard Crew cleared overgrown areas and completed gardening and outdoor improvements. Meanwhile, the Shed Remodel Crew got to work transforming the existing shed for its next purpose.
For our Utah associates, the day was about more than checking projects off a list. It was about helping to prepare a new community resource for the work that will take place there in the years ahead. By lending a hand at the property’s very beginning, our team helped lay the groundwork for a space that will support Wasatch Community Gardens’ mission and benefit the community long after Weidner Cares Day was over.
Thank you to Wasatch Community Gardens for welcoming our team back and giving us the chance to be part of this exciting new chapter. And thank you to every Utah associate who brought their time, energy, and Weidner spirit to the project!
We can’t wait to see what grows from here.

On August 19, two Weidner teams came together for one incredible day of service!
Our Home Office and Washington Regional teams joined forces for their 2026 Weidner Cares Day to partner with SAFE (Save a Forgotten Equine), an organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding homes for horses in need.
Our annual Weidner Cares Day is a special opportunity for each Weidner region to work with a meaningful local charity and give back to the communities we operate in. This event is held in every Weidner region, where we close our doors and step away from our usual routines to serve others for an entire workday.
The timing of this year's partnership was especially meaningful. SAFE recently moved to a new property, creating an exciting opportunity for our associates to help prepare the site as the organization begins its next chapter. With a large property and plenty of projects to tackle, associates spread out across the property and got to work.
Teams improved barns and horse stalls, restored fencing, built and maintained shelters, painted buildings, cleared vegetation, organized storage areas, reinforced drainage, restored equipment, and completed landscaping and other property improvements.
Many of these projects will directly support SAFE's horses' day-to-day care. Improvements to stalls, shelters, fencing, wash areas, storage spaces, and other areas will help SAFE create a safe, functional environment for the animals and the people who care for them. What made the day even more special was seeing over 300 Weidner associates working side by side. With so many projects underway at once, every volunteer played an important role in advancing the property.
For SAFE, this property represents a new beginning. We're grateful that Weidner Cares could help transform their new space into a place where horses can heal, receive the care they need, and prepare for their next chapter. Thank you to SAFE for welcoming us, and thank you to every Weidner team member who brought their all to this incredible day of service. Here's to new beginnings for SAFE, for the horses they rescue, and for the lives they change every day!

Giving back is a core part of Weidner’s culture, and our recent Weidner Cares community service event in Alaska brought that commitment to life. Our Alaska team partnered with Covenant House Alaska, an organization dedicated to providing shelter, support, and hope for youth experiencing homelessness, trafficking, or other challenging circumstances.
Each year, Weidner associates across every region come together for Weidner Cares, a company-wide initiative that reflects our commitment to serving local communities. By dedicating an entire workday to volunteer service, our teams use their time, talents, and expertise to revitalize nonprofit and community spaces, creating a lasting impact in the places where we live and work.
This year, the Alaska region set out to refresh and improve the spaces that support local youth as they work toward stability and a brighter future. Throughout the day, associates completed projects across the Covenant House Alaska campus, helping create cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environments for residents, staff, and visitors.
Volunteers deep-cleaned and restored the gym, organized storage and community areas, refreshed the art room and chapel, upgraded maintenance spaces, improved curb appeal, removed graffiti, installed new LED lighting, completed landscaping projects, and painted the MACK House to help make it feel even more like home for its residents.
Each project, no matter the size, helped create spaces where young people can feel supported, find stability, and focus on healing, growth, and the opportunities ahead.
We’re grateful to Covenant House Alaska for welcoming us into its mission, and to every Alaska associate who shared their time, energy, and talents to help make a lasting difference for local youth.

The North Carolina and South Carolina teams spent their 2026 Weidner Cares community service day volunteering at Sterling Elementary School in Pineville, NC.
Weidner Cares is our annual company-wide philanthropic program, hosted in each region, where we close our doors for an entire workday to give back to the communities in which we live and work. With our team’s unique tools, talents, and skills, we can make entire transformations for nonprofit or community-oriented spaces in just one day!
Our mission at Sterling Elementary was to help prepare the campus for another successful school year, and from the moment volunteers arrived, they got to work creating spaces where students and teachers would feel welcomed, supported, and inspired.
Throughout the day, teams worked across the campus, completing improvements that touched nearly every part of the school. Volunteers refreshed the teachers' lounge with new paint and updates, restored the outdoor classroom and community garden, repaired benches and planter boxes, completed landscaping enhancements, cleaned outdoor gathering spaces, and enhanced playground areas used daily by students.
Not every contribution involved paint or power tools. Several volunteers spent time creating colorful, handwritten encouragement cards, leaving uplifting messages for students as they begin the new school year. These small gestures remind students that an entire community is cheering them on.
The day showcased what Weidner Cares is all about: coming together, sharing our talents, and investing in the communities where we live and work.
Thank you to every associate who volunteered their time, energy, and heart to help make Sterling Elementary School an even better place for students, teachers, and families.

Arizona gives out meals with St. Mary’s Food Bank for Weidner Cares 2025!
Beyond the numbers, the day was all about creating memories that truly embodied the essence of Weidner Cares. One associate even approached the St. Mary’s office to inquire about volunteering year-round, highlighting that the spirit of giving isn’t condensed into just one day.
A St. Mary’s employee shared something that really stuck with us: “Every box you pack today is a meal on a family’s table tomorrow. You may not see them, but they will feel your kindness.”
Throughout the event, Weidner’s Arizona associates packed 18,864 food boxes and 4,080 backpacks, equating to thousands of meals and countless moments of hope. This event showed us that when people come together with a shared purpose and compassion, the impact is nothing short of incredible.

West Texas partners with Casa de Amigos for Weidner Cares 2025!
Every year, Weidner hosts its philanthropic program, Weidner Cares, a series of charitable events across all our regions. For an entire workday, our teams across the US and Canada roll up their sleeves and dedicate their day to volunteering with a local nonprofit organization.
This year, our West Texas associates chose to lend a hand to Casa de Amigos in Midland, TX, a nonprofit that has been a community pillar since 1964. Originally founded by a small group of women advocating for equal educational opportunities for Black and Brown children, Casa de Amigos has blossomed into an indispensable resource, offering senior services, adult education, youth programs, and healthcare.
The morning started with a heartfelt welcome from Casa’s Executive Director, who shared the organization’s rich history and its mission to help people live with self-sufficiency and dignity. She also expressed her excitement and relief that Weidner was there to tackle some of the biggest projects on their extensive “to-do” list.
Our teams jumped into action, working on painting, organizing, and revitalizing spaces across the nursery, cafeteria, and gym. The energy remained high, with about ten associates volunteering to return the following week to finish laying new turf in the children’s play area.
Throughout the day, laughter, teamwork, and a shared sense of purpose filled the halls. Associates painted murals, organized classrooms, fixed water valves, and brightened community spaces that will serve hundreds of people every day.
One staff member from the nonprofit perfectly summed up the awe of the day: “I don’t know any company that gets over 100 people together and does this. It’s incredible.”
When another staff member mentioned their need for holiday food bank volunteers, our Regional Director, Emily, didn’t miss a beat. With a cheerful, “We want to help,” she gladly volunteered.
By the time the day wrapped up, Casa de Amigos felt revitalized from the inside out. But the true transformation lay in the connections forged between our teams and theirs. The day was a powerful reminder that kindness, community, and hard work can move mountains!

Dallas-Fort Worth shows up for Weidner Cares 2025!
For this year’s Weidner Cares event, our Dallas-Fort Worth associates partnered with the Community Enrichment Center (CEC Hope), a nonprofit serving families across 13 counties who are navigating poverty, family violence, and housing insecurity.
Weidner Cares is an annual series of philanthropic events held in each of Weidner’s regions, where our teams volunteer their time and resources of an entire workday to support non-profit organizations making an impact in the local community. This program is one way we give back to the regions where we do business.
The day began with an unforgettable poverty simulation led by the CEC team, which offered a realistic look at the financial challenges many North Texas families face. Associates were asked to imagine life as a single parent with two children, juggling bills, childcare, and rent. The exercise ended with a sobering takeaway: for many in our community, poverty isn’t about poor decisions, it’s about impossible math and unpredictable circumstances.
With that in mind, volunteers divided into teams, ready to deliver their best work. HVAC crews performed preventative maintenance to improve safety and comfort for residents, painting teams refreshed railings throughout the community, and pantry volunteers at the main CEC food distribution center helped organize and prepare resources for families in crisis.
The impact was immediate and measurable: We gave back $100,000 in volunteer hours and service, supporting more than 1,200 families and nearly 3,600 Texans through food and essential resources.
CEC’s Property Manager summed up the emotion of the day perfectly: “The outside will finally match the inside, the spirit of this place. People are so excited.”
For CEC, partnerships like this mean more than a day of service; they mean sustainability. As one CEC leader wrote, “Every time a partner like Weidner comes alongside us, it makes a very real difference.”
We’re honored to have been part of that difference, and we thank all our DFW associates who made this day so special! We’re so proud of team Weidner!

Wisconsin revisits Shepherd’s College for Weidner Cares 2025!
This year, the president of the Shepherd Foundation, Brian Cartwright, opened the day with a message that resonated deeply: “When you learn in an environment designed specifically for you, you thrive.”
With that impressive start, our associates worked across campus to bring new life to student housing and shared spaces. Projects included painting all 12 third-year apartments, adding bright accent walls, updating bathroom vanities, and refreshing the laundry room. Associates also repainted 13 exterior doors, converted a closet into a locker room space, and gave the greenhouse check-in area a much-needed upgrade, replacing a makeshift desk with a new counter that staff couldn’t stop talking about.
The energy on campus was joyful and contagious. Students greeted volunteers with coffee and smiles, snapped photos in front of their freshly painted rooms, and expressed their excitement with simple words that said it all: “It makes me happy!”
For Weidner associates, this was more than just a volunteer project – it was an opportunity to witness the impact of teamwork firsthand and reconnect with friends in the community. We’re honored to have supported Shepherds College for a third time, continuing a partnership that reflects Weidner’s commitment to community, inclusion, and giving back.
Thank you, Wisconsin, for your outstanding contributions to your community!
