The Weidner Cares team recently donated their time and talents in Oklahoma for CAP Tulsa, one of the largest anti-poverty agencies in the state. CAPs core values include accountability, innovation, honesty, transparency, and integrity. These values are evident in the services they offer so that every family and child can experience the same opportunity for success. CAP empowers low-income families with the education and tools they require to break the cycle of poverty. The 40-person Weidner team spent the day landscaping, organizing, cleaning, and revamping their ECDC Reed Center facility where they offer early childhood education and care to nearly 300 toddlers. Having recently served as an elementary school for the Tulsa Public Schools, the facility was in dire need of some updates to make it more inviting and friendly to the children who will spend their days there learning, growing, and playing. The green thumbs of the team went to work planting flowers, mulching around the front entrance, trimming trees and adding wood chips to the playground area. Inside, the Weidner Team laminated and made packets for the classrooms, painted large banners to display in the hallways, and cleaned and sanitized all of the childrens chairs. All of this was accomplished during the school day, with all 300 students in attendance! Pam Smith, the Volunteer Coordinator for CAP Tulsa had the following message for the team, We are so appreciative of your abundance of love and care in making the projects go so smoothly while updating our school site. Your focused employees moved so quickly through the varied project list! It was exciting to see the amazing improvements made at the end of the work day. We couldnt be more pleased with the results and wish this extraordinary organization much success. Thank you, CAP, for all you do and for the opportunity to help make your facilities shine! -The Weidner Team
