Learn how to get rid of stains like a pro![/caption] Welcome back to Apartment Living 101 from Weidner Apartment Homes! We hope you have been enjoying the videos we have been providing you to help you clean, organize and even soundproof your apartment. Did you miss our last Apartment Living blog post? Well here’s a recap; we not only taught you how to make your own spot cleaner for your carpet but also how to remove that ever so stubborn wine stain that can be nearly IMPOSSIBLE to remove. Well we made the impossible possible with that easy homemade vinegar and water mixture (and a little help from your household iron). Let’s keep that ball rolling with our two newest videos; Remove Coffee Stains Easily and Remove Old Stains! Have an old stain you’ve been meaning to get out? In this episode, we’ll show you how to get rid of that stain with just hydrogen peroxide and be sure it’s the kind in a dark bottle since the dark bottle helps preserve it, and an old toothbrush! Let’s get to it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vj4rjxckspU Put some hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle. Then, spray the stained area and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes. After you’ve let it sit, grab your old toothbrush and scrub the area. Repeat, if necessary. Once the stain has disappeared, vacuum the area to remove any loose debris. That wasn’t too hard! Next up, removing that old coffee stain which can be nearly as difficult as that wine stain mentioned earlier. If you’re watching this video, that means you’ve clumsily just spilled your coffee, like I just did. Here’s a quick list of the things you’ll need:

  • Towels
  • Warm, and cold water
  • Lemon juice
  • Dish soap
  • Clean sponge

Alright, let’s get to it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDMsd6kSUtY First, you’ll want to dab as much of the coffee as possible with a towel. Be sure to dab the coffee vs scrubbing. Also, be sure to use a clean side of the towel so you don’t spread the stain. Go ahead and pause the video, I’ll wait while you dab. Now, grab a cup of cold water, and pour directly on the stain. Continue to dab with a new towel and repeat until the stain won’t come out. Next, take 2 cups of warm water, and mix in ¼ cup of lemon juice, and splash of dish soap. Take your clean sponge and dip it there, and squeeze until the sponge is just damp. Starting from the outside and working your way in, rub in a circular motion. Then, rinse with cold water. With a dry towel, remove any of the leftover mixture by placing the towel over the area, and firmly pressing down to remove any liquids. If the stain still shows up, repeat. Otherwise, you’re done! And YOU thought you’d have to live with that stain. Now to make another pot of coffee! Want more tips for apartment living?
