Romantic Valentine’s Day at Home

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and we couldn't be more excited to celebrate love! From family and friends to significant others, there are many people and many ways to celebrate this special day. While a romantic steak dinner is always a go-to, celebrating at home might be a great option instead this year. Skip the long lines and packed restaurants and have a romantic Valentine's Day at home!
Celebrate Valentine's Day at home this year!

Cook Something Delicious

Anyone can just go to a restaurant and order food, but not everyone can cook a delicious homemade meal! Utilize your spacious Weidner kitchen to make a meal together. Pasta is always a romantic hit, plus it's fairly simple and not too expensive. Ask your dinner guest for their favorite flavors and ingredients as well as any allergies, and make them a beautiful, customized dinner. Be sure to finish the evening with a romantic dessert! Chocolate-covered strawberries are the quintessential Valentine's Day dessert, or you can get creative with some homemade chocolate fondue for two.

Set the Stage

Don't make Valentine's Day feel like just another day at home. Change things up in your apartment to show effort. Skip the cheesy, hanging decorations and focus on the ambiance instead. We love utilizing string lights and electric candles. You can also move around your furniture to create some open space for slow dancing or a pillow fort. A little effort in setting the stage can go a long way.

Plan Some Games or Talking Points

Once your date is over, you don't want to make casual small talk about work and the weather. Instead, come up with some games or talking points to take the conversation to the next level. It's always fun to play a question game where you simply take turns asking each other any question you want. This is a great way to find out things about each other that typically don't just come up in conversation. There are also many couples card games that allow you to get to know each other better and take the hard work out of the picture.

Are you ready for a Valentine's Day celebration at home? We sure are! If you have any other helpful tips for your neighbors, be sure to share them in the comments below.
