Swimming Pool Etiquette

  |     |   Apartment Living, Family-Friendly Apartments, Weidner Apartment Homes

We love lounging and splashing in the beautiful pools at our Weidner communities! On a hot summer day, it’s the perfect way to cool off, and on a chilly fall night, the hot tub is the place to unwind. While we all love to utilize this space, we all must treat the area and each other with respect to ensure that everyone enjoys their time. Keep reading for some swimming pool etiquette tips.

Volume

We all want to have some fun in the sun, but it’s essential to consider your volume when you're at a public amenity. From screaming and talking to playing loud music, the sound travels and may disturb your nearby neighbors. Even if you visit the pool during peak hours, remember that some people work the night shift, so they may be trying to sleep. The first step to being a good neighbor is to treat others how you want to be treated, which means considering the volume you would tolerate if you lived nearby.

Playing

We all love to splash around in the pool, but it’s important to be considerate of others at all times. If you or your family want to play Marco Polo or any other fun pool game, be sure to utilize just a fraction of the area so that others may continue to enjoy their swim without running into you. While you might be there to play, others might be there for some relaxation, so try to keep the playing self-contained until you have the area to yourself.

Cleanliness

We work really hard to keep our pools nice and clean for our residents, and we ask that you have the same courtesy for others. Before hopping in the pool, rinse off your entire body to ensure that you don’t bring any dirt or lotions into the water. If you enter the pool with items on you, such as band-aids, goggles, or earplugs, make sure they are with you when you leave.

Our Weidner residents love utilizing the pool, and we want to ensure that it’s a fun space for everyone by providing these helpful tips. Share your favorite swimming pool etiquette tips in the comments below.
