Weidner Cares Is Coming Back!

You read the title correctly; Weidner is thrilled to announce that we will fully resume Weidner Cares next spring, 2023! To gear ourselves up for the highly anticipated event, we want to refresh what Weidner Cares is and our plans to reignite the program.

What is Weidner Cares?

Every year, each region partners with a local non-profit and volunteers with the organization for an entire workday. If regions are spread farther apart, we hold multiple days to eliminate the need for extensive travel. To provide the best support, we choose charities large enough to handle our entire region that requires Our People’s highly desired skill sets unique to our industry.

Over the years, we have worked with numerous non-profits, including the Boys & Girls Club, Permian Basin Mission Center, and Operation Safehouse. Previous projects include exterior and interior painting, electrical and plumbing maintenance, carpentry, deep cleaning, organizing, designing murals, and much more! In just one day, our teams make a huge impact on the charity, if not a complete transformation.

Why do we do Weidner Cares?

Weidner Cares began as an employee-driven initiative from an internal customer service workshop we held in 2013 to understand the needs and wants of Our People. Our associates expressed an overwhelming desire to extend their charitable efforts outside of our communities by including our cities. To fulfill that need, we created Weidner Cares, intended to build upon our unique culture and foster a commitment to giving back to the areas that support our company.

Mr. Weidner further elaborates on the importance of giving, “It’s better to give rather than receive. When you give, you’re fully alive and project the joy of your spirit to others. It’s the basis for humanity and makes you feel good. Weidner Cares allows us to take on projects that let us contribute with our hearts while working together. When we complete a project, we can say, “Wow, we really accomplished something today.”

What can we expect from Weidner Cares in 2023?

Our Marketing Specialist, Anna Reichstein, is the new manager of Weidner Cares. She and the regional leadership teams plan the events in a collaborative partnership to maximize each region’s impact.

“Weidner Cares is at the top of the list when you ask associates what they love about Weidner.” Said Anna. “It is an honor to take on this responsibility, and in doing so, I want to maintain the program’s fundamentals and keep community support and generosity at the forefront. Weidner Cares is something I’ve always hoped to be a part of, and I am passionate about empowering our associates by providing an opportunity to improve the communities they live in. The difference we make is amazing, and the amount of love it brings out in our associates makes for the perfect team-building event. Our mission to give back speaks to our company’s values and the Leadership team’s priorities.”
