Weidner Cares continues strong with a day of service at Clare House in Anchorage, AK!
On Friday, July 11, 2025, our team members across Alaska spent the day volunteering at Clare House, a program through Catholic Social Services that provides emergency shelter and transitional housing to women and children facing homelessness. With round-the-clock access, structured support, and case management, this shelter offers families a safe place to regroup, rebuild, and regain their independence.
Our dedicated team was all-hands-on-deck, ensuring that every part of the property received attention. The team transformed the hallways and stairwells with a fresh coat of paint, revitalizing the communal areas and brightening the atmosphere. But it wasn’t just about looks — they were truly passionate about making life better for all residents. They upgraded both indoor and outdoor lighting to improve visibility and safety, ensuring mothers and their children could navigate the property comfortably at any hour. The restrooms also received repairs and upgrades, the kitchen was thoroughly deep-cleaned, and the basement was organized to ensure that the space was easily accessible for those who needed it. Outside, hardworking associates filled in holes, repaired the roof, and planted the first seeds of a new garden project to enhance the outdoor space.
Whether it was rolling paint, lifting materials, or repairing sinks, each volunteer played a unique part in helping Clare House cultivate a sense of community.
A heartfelt thank you to our Alaska team for making a genuine difference in the lives of families in need. You guys rock!
