California collaborates with the TIER Equine Rescue for Weidner Cares 2025!
This year’s Weidner Cares took our California associates to True Innocents Equine Rescue (TIER), a sanctuary in Riverside County that provides lifelong care for horses in the Southern California area who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned.
Founded in 1998, TIER runs entirely on donations and the hard work of its devoted team: owner Gail, her long-time employee, Santiago, and their watchful barn cat Crybaby. Like many other small nonprofits, the past few years have been tough on the team. Donations have slowed since COVID, and Gail lost an employee due to illness, leaving her to manage the rescue largely on her own.
When our associates arrived, the emotion was unmistakable. “We’ve been on a shoestring budget,” Gail shared, “and now that you’re here doing all of this, it’s going to make Santiago’s job easier. I just want to express my gratitude. It really means a lot to us, and to the horses.”
Our teams got to work replacing gates and fencing, painting corrals, trimming trees (thanks to the generous team from Liberty Tree Care), and cleaning stalls and paddocks. We built a canopy cover, refreshed the ranch house, and organized the property to make daily operations smoother for Gail and her team. Between the smiles, sweat, and a few “photo-bombing” horses eager for attention, the day embodied the heart of Weidner Cares.
One associate celebrating their one-year work anniversary summed it up best: “There’s no better way to celebrate than giving back.”
Through teamwork and compassion, our associates helped restore not just the ranch, but also the spirit of all the beautiful animals who call it home.
Thanks for extending a helping hand to those in need, California! We’re proud of you.
