Switch to Warmer Bedding

As the sun goes down and the temperature drops, you want to curl up in some warm fuzzy sheets. If you have been utilizing cotton sheets to keep you cool during the summer, now is the perfect time to switch them out for flannel or thicker bedding. You can also grab those big bulky blankets you got for the holidays last year and add an extra layer of warmth to your bed.

Check Your Windows

It goes without saying that much of your warmth can be lost out the windows. Before the cold season starts, check your windows to make sure they are correctly closed. If they are still letting in a draft regardless of being sealed shut, let maintenance know so they can handle it ASAP.

Invest in Fuzzy Socks

Did you know that you lose most of your heat from your feet and the top of your head? By putting on warm socks, you can ensure that your body stays warm all day long. Plus, fuzzy socks are a great gift idea with the holiday season just around the corner.

Try a Humidifier

The cold air holds less moisture, leading to dry skin, sinus congestion, and an increased likelihood of getting the cold or flu. A humidifier can help relieve these symptoms by releasing warm mist into the air. Plus, it can help your heating system's efficiency since humid air conducts heat easier than dry air!

Now that winter is almost here, start preparing your apartment. There are many unique ways to ensure that you and your family stay warm and cozy all season long. Do you have any questions about our previously mentioned tips? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
