Keep your apartment clean all year round with the tips in this blog.
Implement a Five Minute Rule

Any time you or one of your roommates walks through the front door, the five-minute rule begins; this means spending your first five minutes at home tidying up. While five minutes might not sound like a lot, it will start to add up as each person comes and goes. Plus, as you continue to clean throughout the year, there will be less and less to do each time. No matter how busy you and your roommates are, everyone can spare five minutes when they walk through the door to tidy up.

Don’t Put Things Down; Put Them Away

Most homes become messy and untidy when people put things down instead of putting them away. Make it a rule to put things in their proper places every time they are used. It will only take a few more seconds to put your possessions away, and it will end up saving you an abundance of time at the end of the day. Once you get into the habit of doing this, you will discover that your home is a lot less cluttered.

Make Cleaning Fun

When we view cleaning as a chore, it suddenly becomes boring; however, we are more likely to see it through if we make cleaning fun. Get in a routine of turning on a certain playlist when you clean or make it fun by rewarding yourself for every room you finish. A little creativity goes a long way, and a change in perspective can completely alter your view on getting those chores done.

Now that your apartment is nice and clean for the new year, continue to keep it that way by implementing our tips and tricks above. Do you have any other advice for your neighbors? Share away in the comments below.
